Mid 1800’s Hoytema Company Black Semi-Iridescent Pirates Bottle. V. Hoytema & C. case gin bottle from the mid-1800s. These bottles were typically produced between 1850 and 1870. They are known for their distinctive "black glass", which is actually a very dark green. This color was used due to the high tax rates on clear glass at the time. Excellent condition. All original with no restoration. Measures 9 3/4"
