Small Inuit Eskimo Kelyaut (Frame Drum) – Wood, Skin & bone. Hand crafted by Inuit Native American Eskimos. Mid-Century or older. The Kelyaut, also known as a Qilaut, is a traditional frame drum used by the Inuit people. These drums are typically made from materials such as wood, walrus ivory, seal or whale peritoneum, and sometimes bone. The Kelyaut is an important part of Inuit culture, often used in ceremonies, dances, and storytelling. Not as big as most instruments we think of this drum measures only 3 5/8" Diameter.
