Lot 401:
1860's Hand Colored Photograph of Elizebeth Clark in a Walnut Frame
Victorian Era Portrait Painting of Mrs. William Fufue May Jr – Elizebeth Clark in a Walnut Frame – Circa 1860’s. Hand painted on a thick paper which was how many were done from 1855 to the early 1870’s. Portrait has never been removed from the frame. Verified this was a picture of Elizebeth Clark by another colored photograph from the same estate. The colored photo measures 9 5/8" by 8" (rough guess – didn’t remove it from the frame) and the walnut frame is 15 7/8" by 13 7/8". Overall very nice condition for its age. Frame has some surface blemishes as can be seen in photos with age toning to the back cover paper.
Condition: Authentic
