Anthropod Fossil (Cyclus Americanus) found near Essex, Illinois.
Cyclus americanus is a species from an extinct group of arthropods known as Cyclida. Sometimes nicknamed "fish lice" due to their crab-like appearance. This specimen measures 1 1/4" diameter and 1/4" thick approximately. Has both sides of the stone nodule. This specimen was found near Essex, Illinois.
