Original Kitagawa Utamaro (1753-1806) Woodblock Print - Edo Period
Kitagawa Utamaro (1753-1806) was a master of the ukiyo-e woodblock print genre in Japan. He is best known for his bijin-ga (pictures of beautiful women) and shunga (erotic prints). Utamaro’s work is celebrated for its delicate beauty and attention to detail, capturing the elegance and grace of women in Edo-period Japan. Good condition for a 200 year old Woodblock Print. Has some age toning as expected, minor thumbing and mild wear around the page edges. Measures 14 3/4" by 10 3/8" approximately.
