Lot 94:
15" Extinct Bison Occidentalis Skull Plate w/ One Horn
15" Extinct Bison Occidentalis Skull Plate w/ One Horn. Found in Western Iowa. The Occidentalis was a species of bison that inhabited North America from 5,000 to 10,000 years ago. Evidence shows the American Bison evolved from the Occidentalis about 5,00 years ago. This skull would have measured over 30" wide from horn tip to horn tip had it been intact. The center of the skull plate isnt on the skull plate so this was likely a quite large specimen of the species. It measures 15".
