Finely Made 6 1/2" Dovetail - Modern Made
Finely Made 6 1/2" Dovetail – Modern Made. Someone did some surface alteration on this one trying to make it look like an old one. It also has false patina spots meant to mimic manganese black earth deposits found on many ancient artifacts. Made by Jeff Gower circa 1990’s. Artifaker/Ager unknown. Modern art like this often falls in to the wrong hands and gets sold as "authentic" by corrupt or incompetent sellers and authenticators. Artist signature available on request. If I owned it I would sign it. Its a consigned piece.
