1 9/16" Folsom found in Adams County, Illinois w/ Keele COA
1 9/16" Folsom found in Adams County, Illinois w/ Keele COA. A nice example of the type this Folsom shows no signs of use. Folsom makers took the construction of their points very serious. On the tip the Folsom maker hit a quartz pocket in the final stage of manufacture as shown in the photos. He came at it one way then tried another. Being an area with plentiful high grade Burlington it was likely discarded and the Indian picked up another stone and started over. In photos and in hand it screams the type that it is but lacks the basal grinding and very fine retouch flakes generally found on its type. A very collectible piece with excellent patination w/ mineral deposits found near Payson, Illinois by W. Willings. Mr Willings daughter, Linda Willings who is 82 inherited his collection. Ex Linda Willings collection. Key words: Ancient, Prehistoric Native American Indian Artifacts, Arrowheads, Stone Tools
Condition: Ancient Authentic
