Lot 238:
3 Foot Extinct Mastadon Tusk Fossil found in Eastern Missouri
Found by Jeff Gower and Matt Lay on a gravel bar in Eastern Missouri. This specimen had been exposed to the elements for a period before it was found which caused the surface to crack up. Likely experienced freezing. We put over 100 in glues preserving it as it is. If undiscovered fossils like this which are still in a bone state generally disintegrate from elemental exposure and additional flooding. It measures a little over 3 foot in length.
Condition: Ancient Authentic
