1890 Japanese Lady Woodblock Print by Toyohara Chikanobu. Toyohara Chikanobu 1838-1912 also known as Yoshu Chikanobu, was a prolific Japanese woodblock artist during the Meiji period. He was born in Niigata Prefecture and initially trained in the Kano school of painting. Later he studied under Utagawa Kuniyoshi and Kunisada who were two prominent ukiyo-e artists of the time. Print is in very good condition for its age. Minor age toning. Woodblock print measures 14 5/8" by 9 7/8"
