LARGE BUTTERSCOTCH AMBER BEAD W/ a Transluscency Swirl - 45 Grams Tested
LARGE BUTTERSCOTCH AMBER BEAD. Very large amber bead made from natural amber by tribal peoples in Africa. The tribesman did an exceptional job capturing a semi-translucent patch in the stone that is swirled all the way through as shown in photos. This bead was part of an African necklace. The necklace had to be disassembled to test that this was not a reproduction or lesser gem or stone. Floats on salt water and sinks in regular water. Tested with UV light and Acetone. Pictures 7 & 8 are under a black UV light. Very nice large solid chunk of true amber hand crafted in to a bead by natives in west Africa. Measures 1 7/8" Diameter and 1 1/4" thick. Weighs 45 grams.
