Old Silver Neck Torques Worn By Married Women in Nuristan and Swat valley, North West Pakistan. Silver Necklace/Choker – Marked M.S.. M.S. is marked all over it but a number was never added with that. Minted silver refers to silver that has been processed and stamped into a specific shape, usually coins or bars, by a minting authority. The term "minted" signifies that the silver has been officially produced and authenticated by a recognized mint, ensuring its quality and purity. At one time jewels, turquoise or some other attractive stone were in the 3 facets on the face of this piece. It is still quite brilliant with all of its dangles intact. The pieces on the back were likely tied with a string to hold it on. A nice example of old silver smithing from south Asia. From the Chuck and Eileen Hoffman Collection. Weighs 123 grams or 4 3/8 ounces. 4 1/8" Inner Diameter. Vintage Tribal Collector Jewelry
