1800's Lithograph by Daumier - French Political Satire - "The Moores of Married Life"
Honore Daumier, the renowned French caricaturist, painter, and sculptor, was prominently associated with the French newspaper "Le Charivari". This lithograph was created in 1842 by Draumier. His satirical works and political cartoons were a significant feature of this publication during the 19th century. Daumier’s illustrations often critiqued the political and social issues of his time, making him a notable figure in the world of journalism and art. Nicely protected on a clear plastic covered slip case/board. Excellent condition for its age. 12" by 9 1/2" approximately in a 20 1/2" by 16 1/2" frame. Lithograph has a little foxing with a torn corner as shown in photos. Nicely framed. Roughly translated this one is called "The Moores of Married Life".
