Bone & Stone Artifacts from California
Bone & Pottery Artifacts from California. Likely made by the Chumash Indians. Catalog numbers on one of these pieces suggest it was once in a museum and deaccessioned. Some of the pieces may fit together (this author couldn’t get any to fit together). Appear to be parts of flutes or pipes. The Stone piece (pipe bowl) appears to be made lava rock. The flint is a gun flint made of European or Danish flint. It was with this assortment so must have been found in association with the other pieces. The longest piece is almost 8". The Danish gun flint is approximately 1 1/4" long.
