19th Century Metal Match, Needle, Snuff or Trinket Box. We didn’t find a close match to this piece on a visual search on the web. It is without question quite old appearing to be Victorian with the floral motif. A mechanism helps hold the cap down (somewhat spring locked). Works as intended. A fair amount of patination inside the piece where contents were once held. Over all excellent condition for its age. It measures 2 1/8"
