Early 1800’s Japanese Block Print by Gigado Ashiyuki – Chokoku – Legendary Warrior Holding A Flaming brand while his assistant kills the Nue Monster. by Gigado Ashiyuki. Gigad? Ashiyuki (??? ??) was a notable designer of ukiyo-e style Japanese woodblock prints, active from around 1813 to 1833. He was known for his innovative contributions to the Kamigata tradition of printmaking. Very good condition with age toning and only minor faults as shown in photos. 15 1/4" by 10 3/8"
