19th to Early 20th Century Silver Bedouin Tribal Coffee Bean Bracelet (may be older). The coffee bean is an important part of the culture in Yemen and Saudi Arabia. The artistry in jewelry made in that region is often influenced by the coffee bean. This style of bracelet is primarily found in Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Turkey. At one time a metal pin or wire would have been inserted through the hinge holes to lock the bracelet in place. This bracelet weighs 1 5/8 ounces or 48 grams or 4 1/2 ounces. Chuck and his wife spent most of their lives teaching in various countries bringing back interesting and often old pieces from the cultures they shared their lives with.
