LARGE BUTTERSCOTCH AMBER BEAD - 54 Grams Tested
LARGE BUTTERSCOTCH AMBER BEAD. Very large amber bead made from natural amber by tribal peoples in Africa. This bead was part of an African necklace. The necklace had to be disassembled to test that this was not a reproduction or lesser gem or stone. Floats on salt water and sinks in regular water. Tested with UV light and Acetone. Very nice large solid chunk of true amber hand crafted in to a bead by natives in west Africa. Measures approximately 2" Diameter and 1 1/8" thick. Weighs 54 grams. 4th pictured was taken under a UV black light.
