Lot 222:
Thick Pre-Columbian Mayan Frog Faced Pottery Vessel - Pre-Classic 300BC to 100AD
Thick Pre-Columbian Mayan Frog Faced Pottery Vessel. This is a very sturdily constructed pot. The walls of this pot appear to be 1/2" to 3/4" thick. The rim exhibits heavy use wear as can be seen in photos. One side has a set of eyes and a mouth incorporated in to the piece which appear to be a frog face but could be interpreted as something else. Demonstrates correct ancient manufacure and excellent patination. Shows no signs of restoration. Measures 6 1/8" diamater by 3 1/4" tall. Ex Tom Moxley Collection.
Condition: Ancient Authentic
