Native American Artifacts & Hot Wheels
Lot 262:
2 3/4" Hematite Paint Rock found in Pettis County, Missouri
2 3/4" Hematite Paint Rock found in Pettis County, Missouri. The Indians did work the edges on this piece. The dished-out portion appears a natural part of the stone that the Native American likely used for mixing dyes or some similar purpose. They may also have had intention of making a nice celt from the stone and just didn’t get around to it. Ex George Wolf Collection.
