1908 Elgin Seven Jewel Pocket Watch in a Silverode Case
1908 Elgin Seven Jewel Pocket Watch in a Silverode Case. Winds up and runs, goes for a while then stops. Tap on it and it goes some more then stops. Has some usewear to the case as shown in photos. Front glass has a spot above the 11 oclock hour that has been cracked and hemmed up with something long ago. Silverode is a trade name for a type of nickel alloy used primarily in watch cases. It was designed to mimic the appearance of silver while being more affordable and durable. Unlike silver, Silverode does not tarnish easily, making it a practical choice for items that need to withstand wear and tear.
