Serpentine Inuit Eskimo Carving "Eskimo Fishing". Early to mid century. Unsigned. This piece is decoration but also serves a purpose. The fishing pole is a bone or walrus ivory needle. The needle looks quite old but may only be a few decades or less in age. The eskimos still make and use needles like this in remote areas of the arctic and Canada.
