Proto-Historic Peruvian Stone Animal Figure Sheep - found in Peru
Proto-Historic Peruvian Stone Animal Figure – Sheep. This same material was used for thousands of years before the Spanish came to Peru by the natives to make animal and other types of charms. This piece has good patination. It was likely made between the 1500’s to 1800’s. Found in Peru. Sheep were introduced in the 1500’s by the Spanish. Measures 1 3/4" by 1 1/2" and is 1/2" thick.
