Incan Engraved Copper Pendant of Pachamama - Inca God of Nature
Incan Engraved Copper Pendant Pachamama. Likely pre-Columbian this medallion exhibits heavy patination. If we had cleaned it the details of this piece would have displayed much more detailed. The engraved figure on the pendant is likely Pachamama but could be one of the other Incan gods. Pachamama was/is the goddess of the earth and nature, who was the mother of all living things and received offerings of crops and animals. Recent finds date the earliest copper work to 1432–1132 BCE in Peru and adjoining countries. This is likely an older example that was found in Peru. This pendant or ornament measures 3 7/8" by 2 1/8" and is less than 1/16" thick.
