Buyer's premium:

19th Century Large Antique Islamic Middle Eastern Mamluk Syrian Tined Copper Brass Vessel or Pot. Very ornate piece in excellent condition for its age. The etchings on the surface are overlapping patterns consistent with Mamluk artistry on metal. This vessel was made in either Syria or Egypt. This would be a late Mamluk pot as can be determined on the base of the pot where machine marks are present. Machines for forming the sheet metals as opposed to hammering them flat took place in the 19th Century. The etching and detail which has been characteristic of the Mamluk people for centuries is exquisitely displayed on this piece. Features reticulated decorations with Arabic letterings and geometrical patterns throughout. Antique Syrian Bowl or Pot. This Vessel measures 13" tall and 15" wide at the base.
