18th-19th Century Bronze Amitabha Buddha Statue. Excellent condition with attractive patination. Amitabha Buddha, known as Amitabha in Sanskrit, is a principal figure in Mahayana Buddhism, particularly associated with the Pure Land sect. The name Amitabha means Infinite Light, reflecting his association with immeasurable radiance and compassion. He is also known as Amitayus, which translates to Infinite Life, symbolizing his boundless lifespan. This statue measures 3 5/8" tall.
