Saint George Slaying the Dragon Icon – Oil on Wood. Bulgarian Icon hand painted on a 3/4" wood plank made in accordance with the old recipe as stated by the canon of the religion. Made with egg tempera, gold leaf or gilt on a solid wood panel. Excellent condition measuring 8 1/4" by 6 1/4" and 3/4" thick. Certified by Ermini Ltd. From the Chuck and Eileen Hoffman. Chuck and Eileen spent their lives as teachers in foreign countries. Everywhere they went they collected items from the cultures they spent time with focusing on items that were old and significant.
