Bulgarian Icon hand painted on a 7/8" wood plank. Made in accordance with the old recipe as stated by the canon of the religion. Made with egg tempera, gold leaf or gilt on a solid wood panel. Made from a wooden plank. The artists that have made these style of paintings utilize the wood they have available to turn them in to works of art following the traditions of the church. Age unknown. Measures 7 7/8" by 5 3/4" by 7/8" thick.
