1880's The Ideal Album (Diary, Notebook, Messages Book)
Ok so this took some reading to figure out. This Album appears to be a fancy notebook that contains messages and poems to a Young woman named Lilly who lived in the St Louis Missouri area. We didnt read it all to gain a full understanding of its purpose. She may have lost a husband or had a lingering illness. The cover of this book is heavily embossed with the Gold section of the front cover being metal (appears to be metal). It has lithography stamps, 4 leaf clovers and messages scattered throughout. Unique book giving a glimpse into an era past. Hardback with approximately 50 pages. Has some wear and imperfections as is expected for a book of its type from the 1880’s. 7 3/4" by 5"
