Outstanding Translucent Mayan Pre-Columbian Nose Ring Eccentric. The piece is made perfectly to fit snugly above the nostrils on the back of the nose. Different people have different size nostrils so these would have to be special made for the wearer. A very nice example bifacially flaked with the white haze patination that is typical for the stone it is made of. Some Mayan Flint Eccentrics are fairly easy to identify what the maker intended for them to represent. They are very fun to look at and use your imagination. We all enjoy sitting around putting our two cents worth in on what they are but some may forever be a mystery. If you think you think you see something different in the design you may be right. We all often are guessing on what these mysteries of a by gone era meant. From the Dave Wally Personal Collection.
