Mid-Century Dogon Tribal Cowrie Shell Dance Vest from Mali
Dogon Tribal Cowrie Shell Dance Vest from the African region of Mali. This hand sewn vest was worn at dance rituals. It is made of heavy cloth (similar to burlap) and decorated with cowrie shells with two gourd ends. Its size appears to be a small so was likely worn by a young woman. Attractive display piece in excellent condition. Mid Century Tribal Clothing from Mali.
