Brass Bird Shaped Surmadani Eye Liner/Makeup container from India. The container spins open from a pin in the tail area. The clasp does not keep it closed from use wear. Stands 2 7/8 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches long. Circa 16th-19th century. Women would keep crushed up coal inside them to be used for eye makeup and possibly worn as a pendant on a necklace.
Condition: Ancient Authentic
