Early 20th Century Turkana Finger Fighting Knife "Ngigolio" from Kenya
Old Turkana Finger Fighting Knife "Ngigolio" from Kenya. The Turkana peoples of Kenya used both finger hooks and finger knives. As weapons, they could be used to gash the face or gouge out an eye, but they were also used as utensils to cut and eat meat. The Turkana are the finest fighters in Africa. This Ngigolio Knife measures 3 1/4" by 2 1/8" The Circular piece pictured with the knife is a protective guard that goes around the blade to avoid getting cut. It appears to be wood or bone with some flex to it. Afraid of breaking it we didn’t try and put it back on the blade.
