High End Native American Artifact Auction
Lot 207:
2 13/16" Finely Made Gainey Clovis found in Montgomery County, Mo w/ Keele COA
2 13/16" Finely Made Gainey Clovis found by Michael Auchly’s Great Grandfather on their homestead in Montgomery County, Mo. w/ Keele COA. Extremely well made clovis with manufacture similar to Folsom standards. The entire blade face is pressure flaked with pressure flutes traveling about 2/3’s the length of the piece on one side and just over half way on the other. extremely thin (I want to call it a Folsom but got overruled by the authenticator…). Outstanding patination that is not reproduceable by modern artifakers. Ancient clovis’s of this style and quality are extremely rare. We have only got to handle a hand full of these from that part of the state that we knew were old and this is one of the best ones from that area. Comes with a Ryan Keele COA.
