3 3/4" Speckled Granite Bar Amulet made by Unknown Maker
3 3/4" Speckled Granite Bar Amulet made by Unknown Maker. Finely made, with great detail this piece was likely made by the late Billy Guthrie but could have been made by one of the other makers of his time (mid to late 1900’s). The information stickers on the bottom of the piece is just made up info by a schiekster who tossed it on a sale, antique mall or show at a table to give it a false story which we still see regularly on modern made pieces. Started by the seller or added by the 1st owner so they would remember their made up origins pieces like this are often passed back and forth between collections and often become considered ancient by folks that don’t know because they have been around for half a century or so and sometimes get pictured with a collection in a book. We will confess it looks very good to us but under a microscope there is evidence that dictates otherwise.
