7 1/2" Ancient Chinese Beehive Ribbed Terracotta Pottery Vase
Ancient Chinese Beehive Ribbed Terracotta Pottery Vase. This pot has excellent patination suggesting it is quite old. This came from the same collection as the neolithic pots in lot 416 and 417. Searching the web for similar pieces we looked at 18th century and older pots with similar manufacture in Europe and China. It also resembles Italian 19th Century olive jars but isn’t glazed on the inside. It has one minor chip in the rim as shown in photo but otherwise is in excellent condition and very solid with no restoration noticed. The description on this piece is the closest we could get without a history so any corrections from the crowd on its description is appreciated (feel free to message us). From the Eldon Launer Collection. 7 1/2 tall by 8 1/4" diameter.
