2 9/16" Rare Drilled Granite Pendant found in Boone Co, Mo
2 9/16" Rare Drilled Granite Pendant found in Boone Co, Mo. This is a fun and probably the most interesting piece we have handled recently. It is drilled at an angle from both sides (small holes) meeting together inside at a lower position where you cant see that the holes meet. We had to blow in to one of the holes to confirm that the holes connected and that it was a finished piece. One side was definitely favored over the other as the front side as the opposing side has a fair amount of polish from being worn. The pendant doesn’t seem to signify anything specific but is open to interpretation. It fits in the hand nicely to serve as a miniature pestle or perhaps as a hand held weapon of sorts. Ancient artifacts like this one are always fun to look at and wonder. Ex Ryan & Beau Leach Collection.
