12" Exquisite Ban Chiang Pottery Pot from Chiang Mai, Thailand
Exquisite Ban Chiang Pottery Pot from Chiang Mai, Thailand. The Ban Chiang Culture made pottery as far back as 7 thousand years ago making it some of the oldest pottery in the world. They continued their traditions for thousands of years so a thermoluminescence test would be needed on this piece to get an accurate age. It measures approximately 12" Diameter and 9" Tall. There are a couple cracks in the base of the pot that dead end. Likely where it was hit with a probe by the person that found it.
