Lot 72:
3" Apple Creek Drill found in Scotland Co., Mo by Rodney Gray
3" Apple Creek Drill found in Scotland Co., Mo by Rodney Gray. This was a hard to type piece. When you get up in to the area where this piece was found it is a long ways from the nearest flint source and the native Americans reworked their broken spears and points much more often than you see in areas close to the sources. This drill is finely made. The Indian that fashioned it in to a drill did so with pressure leaving a twist often seen in narrow Daltons. It is either an apple creek drill or a bottleneck drill coming from that area. Doesn’t have the heavy ground base typical of bottlenecks of the area. I know some of you may be thinking Eden but we really don’t see those in that area. Prehistoric, Ancient, Authentic Native American Artifacts
