9 3/8" Quapaw Pottery Bottle Made by Bonnie Boatner of NE Arkansas in 2010. Bonnie learned from her sister Barb. These two artists have hands down over the last few decades made the best Quapaw and Mississippian pottery reproductions. Thru trial and error and not sharing their knowledge with the other pottery makers of Arkansas they have made pots for decades which in every aspect except for age are true to form, material and natural dyes used. The only way to definitively identify that you have one of their works is to have it tested by Thermoluminescence dating. Authentication papers mean absolutely nothing on their works as it pertains to age. Due to the caliber of work they have consistently done for so long many collectors knowingly adorn their shelves with these makers works right next to their good old ones. The sisters have retired from pottery making in these last few years which will only make the value of their work appreciate that much more as time passes. 7 1/2" Diameter at the base.
