1920's Violet Ray Wand
Violet Ray Wand made by Virex Electric Company circa mid 1920’s. This lot includes the wand (serial number 560441), 2 bulb attachments and the original case. Great conversation piece. A violet ray or violet wand is a device used for the application of low current, high frequency electricity to the body. Violet ray devices first became popular in the early 1900’s. These instruments were originally sold as medical devices that claimed to be useful in treating various ailments. This Wand has two attachments and the electrical mechanisms work when plugged in. I couldnt get the bulbs to light up in the dark like they are supposed to though so that is something that will have to be tinkered with. With bulb attachement in its 14 1/4" long not counting the cord. Case is 13 3/4" by 5 1/2"
