WORLD WAR I NOV-11-1918 Trench Art Artillery Casing
This shell reads "WORLD WAR I NOV-11-1918". This Shell was artisticly done in pebble dash to commemorate the end of the War. On Nov. 11, 1918, fighting in World War I came to an end following the signing of an armistice between the Allies and Germany that called for a ceasefire effective at 11 a.m.– it was on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. The base of the shell reads NOV 1917 G 279 67% Cu. HL 31. It stands 9" Tall.
