1916 WORLD WAR ONE HIGHLY ARTISTIC TRENCH ART SHELL. Most trench art shells have a level of artistry to them with meaning. This piece of trench art goes above and beyond. It goes with the simple flower motif but includes all of the various attributes incorporated in trench art shells from the first world war. The base and top are perfectly crimped, pebble dash was used to highlight the flower and additional etching was incorporated at the top. The base of the shell reads 75 DEC SN8 8L 16R with a DB stamp on the edge. It measures 13 3/8" Tall.
