Soldier's Hand Book 1898
Soldier’s Handbook for Use in the ARMY OF THE UNITED STATES by N. Hershler. Published at the direction of the Secretary of War by Washington Government Printing Office 1898. This Handbook was issued to Pvt Newt Maple of New London, Missouri in 1900. It contains most of the basic rules and army regulations etc for the time as well as allowance sheets which were filled in in the back of the book reflecting the items issued to the soldier from 1900 to 1903 when he was discharged. Hardback is a bit worn with tape adhered to the spine at some point, binding is tight and pages are intact and legible. 81 pgs Measures 6 5/8 by 3 7/8" "
