Outstanding WW1 37 MM Trench Art Shell Casing
Outstanding WW1 37 MM Trench Art Shell Casing. This shell Boldly depicts the United States Flag (appears to have 48 stars), the double cross and a heart with the initials FK etched in it. The base of the shell reads AMLOT 1075-28MODEL CF 37 MM GUN PE & CO LOT 84. Not sure if that 84 is the date or not. PE & Co didnt start making ammo until the late 1880’s and the number of the stars on the flag is correct for 1914-1918. The casing has the extended inner fuse which could be used for a pencil holder. This shell measures 2 7/8" Tall.
