Pre-Columbian Tiahuanaco Culture Jaguar or God Figural Pot - 400 BCE to 1100 CE
The Tiahuanaco culture, also known as Tiwanaku, was a pre-Columbian civilization that emerged around 400 BCE and lasted until 1100 CE. An outstanding solid terracotta pottery specimen. Ex Jim Butler collection. Jim spent much of the late 20th century working with archaeologists in Peru and Bolivia. Guaranteed for thermoluminescence testing. A good size piece this pot measures 15 3/8" long 9 1/4" tall and 6" wide approximately.
