Populus Wilmattae (Fossilized Leaf from the Poplar Species)- 38 to 48 Million Years Old
Populus Wilmattae Fossil – Eocene. Found in the Green River Formation near Bonanza, Utah. Populus wilmattae, a species of poplar, existed during the Middle Eocene epoch, which is approximately 48 to 38 million years ago. Fossils of this species have been discovered in the Green River Formation in northeastern Utah. Stone measures 6 7/8" by 6 1/8" by 1/2" approximately. The Leaf measures 6 1/2"
