9 1/2" Large Dogon Wood Door Lock.
Traditional African Art from the Dogon Tribe in Mali. Used to secure doors of houses, granaries, sacred rooms, and shrines. The intricate carvings often depict animals or ancestors, serving as spiritual protection. Each lock is unique and may be named after a message, person, myth, or anecdote. The were often prized gifts for young brides and passed down through generations. The lock measures 6 1/2" Wide and 9 1/2" Tall.
