1800's Lithograph by Daumier - French Political Satire - "It is the Apollo of the New Opera"
Honore Daumier, the renowned French caricaturist, painter, and sculptor, was prominently associated with the French newspaper "Le Charivari". This lithograph was created in 1870 by Daumier. His satirical works and political cartoons were a significant feature of this publication during the 19th century. Daumier’s illustrations often critiqued the political and social issues of his time, making him a notable figure in the world of journalism and art. Edge tatter can be seen along the top edge of the page as shown in photos.
