2 3/4" Eccentric - Modern Made w/ Motley COA calling it Authentic
This is an interesting piece that is nicely but not correctly made or patinated. It is papered by Roy Motley for Terry Allen. The paper reads "from the Dave Walley Collection" and "Found by Dave Wally". Dave never owned this piece, did not find this piece and it is modern made from a form of lightly heat treated chert (most likely heat treated Burlington Chert). Inspected, reviewed and statement given with signature by Dave Walley at the Collinsville Show on 16 February 2024. Those that know Dave feel free to ask him about this. Needless to say he isn’t very happy about it. Dave is likely the foremost expert on pre-Columbian artifacts in North America and is very well known and extremely respected by collector’s coast to coast and around the world. Fortunately we know Dave and we were able to catch the deception on this modern piece to correctly sell it for what it is and not what Mr Allen would say Mr Motley said it is when he sold it. This is an eccentric made by the late Mack Tussinger of Spavinaw, Oklahoma.
